At some point in our lives, we’ve all tried to embark on the journey of weight loss, or if I was to give it a more appropriate name, I’d call it a roller coaster. I’m here to tell you, that I’m no different. From feeling insecure about myself to people’s mean comments which are supposedly intended as humor, I’ve seen it all.
But somehow, I always managed to get past my insecurities, and for me; it was never to avoid those fat-shaming jokes since I believe that people have the power to break you if you only give it to them. My journey was about self-love, getting healthy, and most importantly giving myself the chance to be my best self-possible.
So after a long, hard, journey and many cheat days later, I feel better than I’ve ever had, at a personal best, I still may not be able to fit into the standards of beauty that society considers ideal, but for me, being comfortable in my own skin is all that matters.
