The new Netflix French-fest series Emily in Paris has everyone talking. It is the perfect combo of a talented beauty in the city of love, wearing colorful fun-filled outfits. It's fun, sassy, empowering, relatable, and the perfect show to binge-watch over and over again. The series was created by Darren Star, the mastermind behind Sex and the City.

Also known as the daughter of the English rock legend Phil Collins, Lily Collins has been successful in making a name of her own. She has been an ambitious and hardworking girl since she was young. She may have been born with a silver spoon, but she went through struggles other girls can relate to. She was a fish out of water when she moved to Los Angeles with her mother. Lily Collins' Beauty Secrets French Make-Up Look
Known for her daring and adventurous looks, Lily is never afraid to experiment with different hairstyles, colors, and bold lipsticks. Filming a beauty tutorial for Vogue, Lily took us through her skincare and makeup routine of 'no makeup', makeup French girl look. She gave a few tips and tricks to get that glow that Emily dons in the series. Turns out it wasn't only the Paris aura but her makeup hacks that have us all admiring her beauty.
Lily, like most of us, swears by the three main steps in her beauty routine. She preps her skin; applies the right makeup, and finally does her hair.
She starts with a throat spray, then preps her skin by using skincare products like applying essential oil and cleans up and tones it. She then applies a serum that she applies with a luxurious emerald green jade roller, a face mist, a lip scrub, and a lip balm to get her face fresh and glowy.
She applies sunscreen before starting her makeup. Lily stresses the importance of using sunscreen and tells us that she wears it every single day. She also uses sunscreen as a primer as well. Interesting!
To get that "’je ne sais quoi’, kind of no-makeup, makeup look" she likes to use lightweight makeup, and for that, she uses Lancôme's cult-favorite tinted moisturizer, which she blends with the Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate serum - the same serum she used to hydrate her skin for that healthy, radiant glow.
Lily says she has always loved fresh, clear skin. And that she has always been someone who is about less is more," “The less you have on your face, the less there is to go wrong throughout the day." She says.
Once the foundation is applied, and her skin is glowing, she applies loose powder and a bit of blush under her cheek lightly. Next comes one of the most attractive features of Lily, her thick Audrey Hepburn like brows.
She enhances the shape of her brows by swiping on a monochromatic highlighter in her brow bone area, and then brushes them out with a spoolie. "Brows say so much about your personalities. Fun to embrace and enhance your face, she says," and we agree!

Next comes the eyeliner. To get that French Girl Flick, she uses Grandiose Liner and makes that tiny perfect flick. To make her eyes pop, she uses Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara on her lashes and separates any clumps with a spoolie. This girl has many hacks in her pocket, and we are writing them all down.
And lastly, she uses a peach-colored lipstick that she tops off with a nude gloss. She then applies deodorant, and lets down her unwashed hair, with the help of some dry shampoo. She applies her hand cream and finally, to capture the Parisian ‘je ne sais quoi’ vibe, she gives her look the fragrance "la vie est belle" by Lancôme, which she sprays onto her neck, wrists, and into the air above her.
And Voila, with this look she looks like she's ready to walk around Champs Elysée!

Lily described Emily as incredibly chic and down to earth. She also said that Emily is a fan of Sex and the City which explains her bold, bright, and fearless fashion sense.

Lily Collins not only gives major beauty inspiration. She's also an advocate for self-love. Those of you who have read her book, know that she suffered from an eating disorder as a teenager which she overcame, and has finally learned to love the skin she's in.
A few weeks after publishing her book Unfiltered, she got the offer to work in the movie To the Bone opposite Keanu Reeves, for the role of an anorexic. She saw it as the right way to bring eating disorders to light in the public eye. The actress has since then blown the whole industry with her versatility, especially with Emily in Paris being the cherry on top.
Lily calls herself a clean eater. She loves chicken, fish, and vegetables, and grains like quinoa, but doesn't eat red meat. She stays away from processed foods. She adores baking, and treats herself with things she loves. She said in an interview, "I want to give my body what it needs to be the best version of myself”.
Remember, Emily's morning runs around the river Seine in Paris? Well, Lily is no different. While the actress hated running in high school, she now likes to run by herself, and listen to some music. How “Emily” of her.
According to Lily, she tries to be active every day. She works with trainers. “The point is to feel toned and good in your skin”, she told a publication.
